I greatly appreciate the support that the book has received so far. I can’t wait for it to come out. Here’s where things are as I type this…

  1. All of the editing is done! I probably spent a total of 30 hours on grammar, sentence structure and content revisions. It’s incredible how much I don’t know about the proper way to write. I am so very grateful for the giftedness of others.
  2. I received the formatted (pre-pictures) version of the book a little over a week ago. It was a very surreal and intimidating moment for me to see it actually look like a book.
  3. I then had to decide how to put pictures in the book. One picture per chapter? A section in the middle of the book with pictures? If I do one picture per chapter, how do I pick one for the chapter titled “Some Will, Some Won’t” or “The Ugly Parts”?
  4. Having decided to go ahead with a picture per chapter, the process of pouring over thousands of pictures and wondering which ones were the right ones to us was grueling. It was probably much easier than I made it from a technical standpoint but I sent them to my interior designer yesterday. I will find out if the ones I sent were of good enough quality to be in the book.
  5. I will then finalize the tributes/sponsorships and we’re done! Kind of…

I had a great conversation with a very accomplished author/marketer/musician/theologian named Holt Vaughn. I was introduced to him through my friend David Tobin. He told me about a great idea to create an e-leaders guide that could go along with the book. I spoke with the owner of Christian Editing and Design and we workshopped some ideas. I am excited about the idea but daunted at the process. I think it will really help people take what’s in the book and use it to help others.

I will at some point record the audio book as well. I’m not sure when that will happen but that will be another interesting if not emotional process. I’m sure I’m missing some important steps and developments but I’m so very grateful that you’ve been along for the journey.
